R. Savarimuthu, a popular teacher of Mathematics for34 long years at St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Thiruchirapalli, retired asProfessor and Head of the Department of Mathematics. After retirement, he had astint as Principal at Bishop Ambrose College, Coimbatore for three years andagain as Principal at Arputha College of Arts and Science, Vamban, Pudukottaifor 4 years. Presently, he is Professor and Head of the Department ofMathematics at Pavendar Bharathidasan Institute of Information Technology, Trichy,teaching Mathematics to Engineering students. His area of specialization isTopology to which Real Analysis is a natural springboard.
