R. J. Garde obtained M.S. and the Ph.D. from the Colorado State University, Fort Colling (U.S.A) and
D. Sc from the University of Poona. He was professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) where he was engaged in teaching and research in Fluid mechanics and Fluial Hydraulics. After retirement he was Pro-Vice Chancellor at Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi during 1988-1991 and Emeritus Scientist under UGC and INSA schemes at CWPRS Pune since 1991. He is fellow of Indian National Science Academy, Indian National Academy of Engineering, Institution of Engineers(India) and Indian Society for Hydraulics. He is author of books on Fluids mechanics through Problems, Turbulent Flow, History of Fluial Hydraulics and Co-author of book on Sediment Transportation.
A. G. Mirajgaoker holds M.E. degree from the University of Roorkee and Ph.D. from U.S.A. He taught in the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Roorkee for over ten years and then worked in the Regional Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur as Professor and later as the Principal and Secretary of R.I.J. Jamshedpur. After retirement he has worked with the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR)and also as chief of postgraduate programmes of Nepal Engg. College, Kathmandu.He is author of a text book on Quality Management in Construction, and a Manual on thesis writing Methodology. He is fellow of the Institution of Engineers(India) and life member of the Indian Society for Hydraulics.
